Take me to the King (Tamela Mann)

Lyrics

[Chorus:]
Take Me To The King
I don’t have much to bring
My heart is torn in pieces
It’s my offering
Take Me To The King

[Verse 1:]
Truth is I’m tired; options are few
I’m trying to pray but where are you?
I’m all churched out, hurt and abused
I can’t fake…what’s left to do?

Truth is I’m weak – no strength to fight
No tears to cry even if I tried
But still my soul refuses to die
One touch will change my life

[Chorus:]
Take Me To The King
I don’t have much to bring
My heart’s torn in pieces
It’s my offering
Lay me at the throne
Leave me there alone
To gaze upon Your glory
And sing to You this song
Please Take Me To The King

[Verse 2:]
Truth is it’s time to stop playing these games
We need a word for the people’s pain
So Lord speak right now, let it fall like rain
We’re desperate….We’re chasing after you

[Bridge 1:]
No rules, no religion
I’ve made my decision
To run to You
The healer that I need

[Chorus:]
Take Me To The King
I don’t have much to bring
My heart’s torn to pieces
It’s my offering
Lay me at the throne
Leave me there alone
To gaze upon Your glory
And to sing to You this song

[Bridge 2:]
Lord we’re in the way
We keep making mistakes
The glory is not for us
It’s all for You

[Chorus:]

Take Me To The King (3x)

Our Thoughts

The safest place to be in the midst of the storm is in God’s arms or at His feet. It’s like the ‘eye of the storm’ – the centre of a hurricane where there is calm; the point about which the rest of the storm rotates. Everything could be collapsing around you but God is a refuge. HE must be our strongest desire and the One we run to and not away from when we’re confused, tired, weary, brokenhearted,….whatever it might be. If only we would realise that life is not about us but about God, we’d stress less about things that are out of our control and give all glory to God to whom it is all due. As long as we stay submitted to our King and make His secret place our dwelling, we can be sure He is working out His good pleasure in our lives in and through the fires and storms of life.
So let’s just seek the King and adore Him no matter what.
